THE A82 route from Loch Lomond to Glencoe has been chosen as Britain's most beautiful road trip.

The route to the famous valley, which takes in breathtaking views and important elements of Scottish history, topped a poll of 1,500 motorists conducted by Motor Fuel Group.

A reported 51 per cent of those polled in Scotland said they appreciate the ease of being able to stop wherever and whenever drivers wanted.

In the same poll, the Loch Lomond drive to Lochgilphead was voted number nine in the top 15 best driving routes.

William Bannister, CEO at MFG, who commissioned the study, said: “This poll shows that as the country unlocks from a difficult year of restrictions we are going to see a resurgence in the popularity of road trips."
