DUMBARTON FC has parted company with manager Jim Duffy following the expiry of his contract.

In a statement on its website, the club said discussions took place after a "difficult season", and it was agreed a new challenge would suit both parties.

The club continued: "Jim had been in charge since October 2018 and has steered the club through the recent turbulent times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"After two sixth-placed league finishes, he recently ensured that the club will compete in League One again next season, having won the playoffs by defeating Stranraer and Edinburgh City over two legs.

"Jim also, to his great credit, continued as our manager despite suffering a major health scare in June 2020, from which he has since made a full recovery.

"His overall record as Sons manager consists of 94 games in all competitions - 33 wins, 18 draws and 43 defeats.

"The club wishes to place on record its sincere thanks to Jim for his service as manager, especially during the recent unprecedented times, and all at the club wish him every success in the future."

Applications are now being invited by email to Antonia Love, general manager, via office@dumbartonfc.co.uk.
