The latest figures on deaths related to Covid-19 in West Dunbartonshire have been revealed.

Official statistics show that between Monday, June 7 and Sunday, June 13, there were no deaths in the area in which Covid was mentioned on the death certificate.

The new figures mean that there has not been a death relating to Covid-19 in West Dunbartonshire for six weeks.

It means that the number of people who have died from Covid in West Dunbartonshire in 2021 remains at 65.

The total number of Covid-related deaths recorded in West Dunbartonshire is 243 from when the pandemic began last March.

Figures from across the country as a whole reveal a drop in deaths over the past week.

A total of seven deaths relating to Covid were registered across the country in the seven days to June 13, down one from eight the previous week.

In total, 10,137 deaths have been registered in Scotland where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate, according to the statistics.

Of these registered this week, four happened in hospital and three in a care home setting.

The statistics are published weekly and cover all deaths registered in Scotland where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

They differ from the lab-confirmed coronavirus deaths announced daily by the Scottish Government because the NRS figures include suspected or probable cases of Covid-19.
