A HUNT has been launched for a Bellsmyre man who failed to show up in court for a review of a punishment imposed after he breached an order not to contact his ex.

Richard Kelly, of Merkins Avenue, had been due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Friday morning for a review of a community payback order (CPO).

But the 30-year-old did not appear when his name was called, and his solicitor, Stephen McGuire, said his client had failed to attend an appointment the previous day.

Kelly was made the subject of a CPO after he breached a non-harrassment order imposed in December 2019.

The breach of the order happened at an address in the town’s Smollett Road on September 13 and 14 last year.

Kelly had also pleaded guilty to kicking a dog on its body at the Smollett Road address and failing to keep a suitable home for two dogs and three cats in Merkins Avenue on September 14 and 15 last year.

Sheriff William Gallacher granted a warrant for Kelly’s arrest.
