THREE Dumbarton and the Vale youngsters have been named as Active Schools West Dunbartonshire’s Young Sport Stars of the month for July.
Lucy Mullen from Lennox Primary was nominated for her commitment to her dance school Liza’s Academy of Dance and Cheer during lockdown, when she continued to be motivated and participated in online dance classes on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to keep up her dance skills.
Thallon McMaster, also from Lennox Primary, takes part in football training with Renton FC and also attends swimming classes through West Dunbartonshire Leisure.
He is a member of the Anchor Boys and through this participates in many activities, including a range of other sports.
Orlaith Kelly was nominated by St Michael’s Primary School in Dumbarton for her commitment to dance, having continued attending online classes throughout lockdown after being accepted on to a Scottish Ballet programme just before the pandemic.
Active Schools is looking for members of the public to help young people across West Dunbartonshire get more active more often.
