THE owner of a Dumbarton ice cream shop has vowed to gift kids in need a theme park trip after failing to complete a personal challenge.
James Samain, who runs Biggie Scoopz on Cardross Road, promised he would donate £1,000 to charity if he was unable to keep to his pledge to give up alcohol for a month.
Having caved in to temptation after just 10 days of his challenge, the businessman is now on a mission to give local youngsters a day to remember.
He plans to use the four-figure sum to pay for a minibus and driver that will take the children and their guardians to M&D’s theme park in Motherwell.
As well as providing tickets, James will also organise a picnic and give out ice cream to the group when they return home.
Families with budget constraints are asked to contact enquiries@ biggie-scoopz.co.uk to put their child’s name down for the trip.
