A TOUR of the most northerly point of the Roman Empire will set off from Old Kilpatrick next month.

Historian Stuart Forsyth will be exploring the timeline of a 2000-year-old fort built on the site of The Depot, on Dumbarton Road in the village, on Saturday, August 14.

Stuart will also take his guests along sections of the Antonine Wall, one of six UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Scotland.

The wall ran for 37 miles from Old Kilpatrick to Bo’ness and told soldiers on both sides where the Roman’s territory began and ended.

The walk will begin at 2pm and will conclude with an afternoon tea at Kerbside Coffee.

Tickets start at £11.37 and are available by searching Antonine Guided Walk on Eventbrite.
