A DRIVER was found to be more than four times over the legal alcohol limit while travelling on Loch Lomondside, according to police.

Officers stopped an Audi A4 on the A82 north of Tarbet on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 20 and reportedly detected a smell of alcohol on the driver’s breath.

The driver, who was identified as a 55-yearold man from Glasgow, allegedly returned a positive result from a breath test and he was subsequently arrested and taken to Clydebank police office.

Further samples of breath were taken and analysed and reportedly showed a reading which was more than four times over the legal limit of 22 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

The driver was charged with drink driving and released when sober to attend at Dumbarton Sheriff Court.
