ORGANISERS of Levengrove parkrun have been given the green light to restart the event.
Last month, 5k parkrun events returned to more than 500 parks and open spaces across England with only parkrun events in Bressay and Kirkwall allowed to resume in Scotland.
However, Dumbarton runners have been given the go-ahead to lace up their running shoes next Saturday, August 14, when Levengrove parkrun will return.
Parkruns are free, weekly, community events all around the world where there is no time limit.
Every Saturday morning 5km events take place in parks and open spaces.

A post on social media read: "With the help of our wonderful volunteers, we are pleased to be able to confirm that Levengrove parkrun will return on Saturday, August 14.
"As you would expect, there will be a few changes which will help keep all volunteers and participants safe and we are going to need more volunteers every week to help make parkrun happen.
"We've been so touched by the offers of help so far and we know more of you will no doubt offer your help too.
"We have volunteer roles available on the 14th and in coming weeks. If you can help please drop us a line at levengrove@parkrun.com
"We'll be sharing more about the changes this week so you know what to expect and how you can help keep yourself and everyone else safe at Levengrove parkrun."
