A MIDWIFE is looking to Dumbarton and the Vale’s keen knitters for help after her ward ran low on hats for newborn babies.
The team received an influx of donated hand-knitted items in the first few months of the pandemic last year – but Emma McIvor, who works at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, says supplies are now in need of being topped up once again.
Her team are looking for hats suitable for babies weighing between eight to 10 pounds in every colour.
They should be a close-knit pattern in double knit wool, not too fluffy or hairy, and should feature no tie details.
The completed hats should be sent to the Labour Ward, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, 1345 Govan Rd, Glasgow, G51 4TF.
