A golf course on the banks of Loch Lomond is to play host to a charity tournament this week featuring several former Scottish Premiership footballers.

The Football Legends Golf Series will take place on Friday, September 3 at the Carrick Golf Course at Cameron House.

Players at the event are set to include Ally McCoist, John Hartson, Andy Goram, Charlie Adam, and three players with links to Dumbarton FC - Andy Little, Mark Wilson and former assistant manager Ian Durrant, who was Stevie Aitken's assistant at The Rock between January 2017 and October 2018.

Alistair Moncrieff, managing partner at the event's sponsors, Whisky Investment Partners, said: “We are delighted to sponsor such a highly-anticipated event and watch Scottish football legends compete on the golf course in a spectacular setting."

The event will include breakfast and a three-course dinner at the Carrick Clubhouse with a prize-giving ceremony and charity auction.

The other former footballers on the list of attendees are Derek Johnstone, Simon Donnelly, Derek McInnes, Bob Malcolm, Jackie McNamara, Maurice Ross, Derek Riordan, Kevin Kyle, Kevin McNaughton and Willo Flood.
