PLANS have been approved to construct a 3G multi-purpose pitch for sports and games at St Mary’s Primary School in Alexandria.
The multi-use games area (MUGA) will be located in part of the school’s existing hardstanding asphalt playground.
An application was submitted to planning officials at West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC) earlier this year, and documents published on the authority’s website last week reveal that the plans have been given the green light.
In council documents, Sports Labs Ltd, the agents behind the proposals, stated: “The pitch area shall be compliant with the minimum requirements of FIFA quality outlined within the FIFA Quality Programme (2015).
“The new 3G facility shall be enclosed by a 5.0 metre high fencing system.”
