A MAN was taken to hospital at the weekend after a report of a serious assault in Alexandria.
The incident happened in the Rosshead area of the town shortly after 11pm on Friday.
Police have launched an investigation into the attack.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a man who had been seriously assaulted near Rosshead Bridge, at Heather Avenue, Alexandria, around 11.40pm on Friday, 10 September.
"The 38-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital with what was believed to be a non-life threatening injury to his back. Enquiries are ongoing."
