A BROKEN down train caused major disruption for ScotRail commuters this week.
The rail operator warned that services on the Dalmuir, Milngavie, Helensburgh Central and Balloch routes via Glasgow Queen Street low level would be cancelled, delayed or revised until 6pm on September 29.
A track maintenance train broke down at Charing Cross station in Glasgow city centre, meaning no other services could travel through or call at the station in either direction.
Replacement transport was provided at Dumbarton Central and Dalmuir.
Services had returned to normal by around 8pm.
