MOTORISTS in are being warned to plan ahead due to roadworks on the A82 starting next week.

The road will be closed northbound between Dumbuck Quarry and the Abbotsford Hotel from 8pm to 6am from Wednesday, October 13 until Monday, October 18 with a diverson route in place.

The local diversion route will see traffic exiting the A82 on to the A814 at the Glasgow Road junction.

Traffic will continue for 1.6km before turning right at the traffic lights on to Greenhead Road.

Traffic will then follow Greenhead Road for 0.5km, where it will turn left to re-join the A82 northbound at Stirling Road.

A stretch of the southbound A82 at the Greenhead Road/Strowans Well Road junction will be closed on the evening of Saturday, October 16.

Also, the northbound A82 carriageway at the Esso Dunglass filling station in Milton will be closed overnight on Sunday, October 17.

Amey says the the work will benefit around 33,575 vehicles using this route each day by improving the condition of the carriageway, preventing further deterioration and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

A total of £200,000 is being spent on the two phases of the work.
