A BONHILL woman has pleaded guilty to breaking specific bail conditions not to have contact with her ex.

Margaret Brown, of the Ladyton Estate, admitted the charge when she appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on September 29.

The 36-year-old has been in custody in Greenock for 10 weeks since being arrested on July 15 for breaking the bail order imposed just hours earlier on July 14.

Defence solicitor Stephen McGuire said Brown's ex appeared at her home and pushed his way into the home. Brown called police but when officers called back, she said it was a mistake.

Police arrived and found the ex hiding in a cupboard.

Mr McGuire said his client had had problems with drugs in the past but had been engaging with addiction services while in jail. He said her plan was to move closer to family in Saltcoats.

He added that his client "knows exactly what she has to do" and the ex had "no reason to be anywhere near her address in Bonhill".

Sheriff Frances McCartney released Brown on bail with special conditions not to be in any contact with the man.

Sentence has been deferred to a court date in January.
