LOCH Lomond Rescue Boat (LLRB) volunteers had a busy Hallowe'en weekend with two call-outs in the space of 24 hours.

On Sunday, just before 1pm, the rescue team was paged by Police Scotland after a call had been received by HM Coastguard reporting three people and a dog in the water south of Sallochy bay, on the eastern shore of the loch.

The rescue boat was launched and made its way to the reported area where the crew recovered two females, one male and a dog from the water.

All casualties were transferred to Sallochy bay and handed over to Scottish Ambulance Service personnel to be checked over.

National Park rangers reportedly recovered a capsized canoe and returned it to land, and the LLRB team was then stood down before returning to base at 1.15pm.

At around 7.30pm the previous night (Saturday, October 30) the LLRB team was paged by Police Scotland after a walker on the West Highland Way "misjudged the distance and terrain he had to cover and missed the ferry to Ardlui".

A social media post said the rescue boat was launched and made its way to the ferry meeting point where the walker was transferred over to Ardlui Hotel safe and well.

The LLRB was then stood down and returned to base at 8.50pm.

The update on the LLRB's Facebook page yesterday said: "Just when you think the season is over. Busy 24 hours for LLRB.

"Thank you to all emergency services involved today and great team work from the crew."
