FOUR people found clinging to a capsized vessel in Loch Lomond without lifejackets were rescued over the weekend.

The Loch Lomond Rescue Boat (LLRB) was paged by Police Scotland at around 11.30am on Saturday, November 20 and launched a short time later after receiving reports of the incident.

The volunteer crew made their way to an area just off the mainland at Fraoch Isle, near Luss, and located the casualties.

The quartet were treated for hypothermia before being transported back to the rescue boat's base at Luss and handed over to the Scottish Ambulance Service.

LLRB members returned to the site to transport Police Scotland officers back to Luss, and the team was then stood down and returned to base at 12.35pm.

A post shared on the LLRB's Facebook page said: "Thank you to all emergency services involved today and great team work from the crew once again.

"Could we please ask that if you are sailing on Loch Lomond or any water please wear a lifejacket."
