A NEW home care company is looking to recruit North Ayrshire workers as it looks to expand its services into the region.

Home Instead North Ayrshire will provide care to older adults in their own homes, allowing them to stay living the way they want, with familiar surroundings while receiving the support that they need to live well.

Home Instead North Ayrshire, alongside its sister branch in Inverclyde, is looking to recruit 35 caring individuals in the next year to join the team as caregivers and will be recruiting a further 120 people in the next five years across Inverclyde and North Ayrshire.

The company doesn’t necessarily look for previous experience in care but claims “a warm heart and a desire to make a difference are the most important attributes”.

Founder Liam McKitterick set up Home Instead North Ayrshire after leaving corporate life in the city.

He explained his reason to move to the coast to start up in-home care, saying: “My passion has always been in helping and caring for others.

“I wanted care to be the business route I go down next and work alongside like-minded people who want to make a difference just like I do.”

Liam’s dedication to helping others began when he started working for an organisation that helps adults with learning difficulties, as well as a group that provides respite care for people with Parkinson’s.

He added: “I know how much it will help the local community to have a company nearby that can provide a supportive, understanding and caring pair of hands.

“I can’t wait to start making a difference to the lives of older adults in Ayrshire.”
