A LARGE group of youth were seen knocking bins onto the main road in Balloch at the weekend, say police.

The group of around 30 youths were causing issues on a train before moving to the village's tourist information centre.

They were observed on CCTV knocking the bins onto the main road causing a hazard for drivers.

The disturbance on Saturday, January 15 at 8pm was noticed by staff at Balloch train station contacted police for assistance.

But by the time cops arrived on the scene the yobs had run off in different directions.

The ages and identities of those involved are not yet known, but police say extra attention will be given to this area.

In July last year, the Reporter told how police patrols were to be stepped up in Balloch after a spate of anti-social incidents during the early weeks of this summer.

British Transport Police (BTP) said it is increasing patrols using targeted operations in the village after dealing with 36 anti-social behaviour incidents in the area since April 2021.
