A POLICE officer required antiviral medication after being bitten by a woman who also brutally attacked her friend in Stevenston.

Sharon Nolan admitted assaulting the male constable and a female pal at a property in the town’s Morris Moodie Avenue on January 29 this year.

The 41-year-old appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week as the hearing was told that she had been out with her friend in Glasgow on the day of the incident before the pair returned to Stevenston together.

An argument then ensued and Nolan repeatedly kicked and punched the victim on the head and body before pulling earrings out from her ears. She also struck the woman’s head off of a door frame and bit her on her left breast, all to her injury.

After police were called and officers attended the scene, Nolan bit one of the officers, leaving bite marks on his arm and requiring him to take antibiotics after attending hospital.

Nolan, of Croft Street in Alexandria, had not guilty pleas to two further charges accepted by prosecutors.

Sentence was deferred until next month for the preparation of a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty assessment. Nolan will return to court on July 11.
