A Dumbarton museum is set to host its first monthly weekend session for toddlers this Saturday, July 2.

The Scottish Maritime Museum's Denny Tank site on Castle Street will welcome the ‘Little Guppies’ song and play group for children under five.

The hour-long session will take place between 10am and 11am and Sarah Takhar, Learning and Access Officer at the museum, can’t wait to see the youngsters.

She said: “We’re thrilled with the great response to our new toddler playgroup. The Museum is all about blending fun and education and we have long wanted to begin a regular children’s group to engage our younger audience.

“Members of the Visitor Services Team at the Denny Tank have created a fantastic programme of activities for our youngest visitors to enjoy!”

During the sessions, participating children under five can enjoy stories, songs, dancing and playing with toys.

Tickets for the ‘Little Guppies’ sessions are priced £2 for one adult and one child and 50p for additional family members.

Advance booking at www.scottishmaritimemuseum.org is highly recommended.
