A WOMAN who assaulted a friend over a pair of shoes has been ordered to do unpaid work in the community.

Emilee Barclay, of Cook Road, Haldane, previously pleaded guilty to the attack that happened on March 30 this year in her road where the woman was pushed on the body and punched on the head to her injury.

Appearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on June 17, depute fiscal Carol Cameron said the incident happened at around 5.30pm after an argument between the two women.

The victim went to 24-year-old Barclay to return a pair of shoes when the argument broke out.

Barclay then followed when the victim left. The victim’s mother heard the argument from outside and Barclay pushed the woman on the body, causing her to fall on top of a wheelie bin, which fell over. Barclay then punched her.

The mother split the pair up and Barclay went home and the victim went to a nearby shop.

A witness in the shop called police.

When officers went to speak to Barclay, she told them: “I only punched her. I text her to say sorry.”

Barclay’s defence solicitor said there had since been an apology. Barclay is on supervision under an existing community payback order (CPO) for three years dating from March 2020.

Barclay had engaged in sexual activity with two children at addresses in the Vale of Leven between August 2015 and December 2017, and at another address between October 2015 and August 2016.

She plied both of her victims with booze and gave one of them cannabis while offering the class B drug to the other. One was a boy, one was a girl, and they were aged between 13 and 16 at the time of the offences.

Last week, Sheriff John Hamilton imposed a new CPO with supervision by social workers for nine months. She must also do 100 hours of unpaid work.
