DRIVERS on the A82 are being warned of a partial closure of the trunk road for tree felling works.

The southbound carriageway between the Stoneymollan roundabout and Renton will be closed from 8pm on Monday, November 21 until 6am on Friday, November 25 to undertake the work.

A contraflow will be in operation on the A82 between Stoneymollan and Renton for the duration of the works. The A82 southbound carriageway will be closed and traffic for both the A82 southbound and northbound will run on the northbound carriageway.

Total closures of the A82 southbound and northbound carriageways between Stoneymollan toundabout and Lomondgate roundabout will be required to install and remove the contraflow, and signed diversions will be in operation.

These total closures will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am on November 21 and on November 24.

Traffic will be diverted on to the A811 and A813 between Stoneymollan and Lomondgate on those dates.

Trunk road maintenance firm Amey said the scheme, with a value of £50,000, will benefit around 5,920 vehicles using this route each day, by reducing the risk of dangerous trees causing disruption to road users and local residences.

Amey says the work is weather dependent, and "may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable".
