A BONHILL man will have to do even more unpaid work in the community for shouting abuse at neighbours.

Connor McGrath, 21, talked of slapping and punching neighbours and admitted, “I lost it”.

He later pleaded guilty to repeatedly shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence at a property in Shandon Brae, Alexandria.

On November 15, fiscal depute Lindy Scaife told Dumbarton Sheriff Court that at about 1.15pm on July 15 this year, McGrath and his partner were having an argument.

Neighbours reported this to police, and one asked McGrath to keep the noise down.

McGrath told them: “I will slap every one of you.” And he told them to, “phone the police, I will deal with them”. He added: “Snitches get stitches.”

McGrath, now of Old School Place, Bonhill, told another neighbour: “See her? Just as well she’s got weans in the house because if she didn’t, I would be up there punching her face in.”

When police arrived, he told officers, “If it means some c*** gets a slap, then so be it” and “I lost it and went out back and told them I would f*** them up”.

He added: “I had it with theses c***s. I just can’t be f***ed anymore.”

A community payback order with social work supervision for a year and 120 hours of unpaid work was imposed for a separate case in September.

Sheriff Lindsey Kooner noted that McGrath had apologised to neighbours. She imposed another 135 hours of unpaid work in the community to be finished within a year.

She said: “You have a lot to focus on but you appear to have made a good start. So I’m satisfied it’s not necessary to impose further supervision.”
