POLICE Scotland has released new data showing how many registered sex offenders (RSOs) were living in every postcode in Scotland at the end of 2022.
The Reporter has extracted local information data, which was produced by the force in December, to show how many RSOs live in each postcode in Dumbarton and the Vale and the surrounding areas.
The numbers tell us that there are currently at least 42 RSOs living in the G82, G83 and G60 postcode areas, covering the whole of the greater Dumbarton and the Vale area including Old Kilpatrick and Bowling as well as Balloch, the west shore of Loch Lomond, and Gartocharn.
The statistics also reveal that there are 161 RSOs living across the Argyll and West Dunbartonshire police division - the second lowest across Scotland.
There are also 53 RSOs currently in police custody or in hospital.
