A WEDDING dress store owner from Cardross has spoken of her delight after her business was named as the best in Scotland for the second year in a row.

The Wedding Planner, owned by KJ Mills, won Best Wedding Dress Retailer at the Confetti Awards on Monday, January 30.

Launched seven years ago, the awards aim to recognise and reward the hard working members of Scotland’s wedding industry.

The Helensburgh shop saw off competition from retailers in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Falkirk, and Ayrshire.

Owner KJ attended the ceremony at Glasgow’s Doubletree by Hilton with store manager Shona McCallum, who is from Dumbarton.

KJ said: “We are so delighted to have won Best Wedding Dress Retailer for the second year running after such a difficult time for our brides and the wedding industry as a whole.

“I am immensely proud of my team.

“We have hit 2023 with a bang and we are extremely busy.”

After being nominated regularly throughout its 21-year history, The Wedding Planner’s win last year was its first top award.

The shop was nominated after being voted by clients, before submitting evidence to be reviewed by a panel of judges.

The Loch Lomond wedding industry was well represented at the ceremony, with several venues, services, and performers being nominated.

Carrs Loch Lomond was highly commended in the Best Wedding Transport Category, as was Loch Lomond Arms Hotel in the Best Hotel Wedding Venue (West) section.

Meanwhile, Rosslea Hall Hotel in Rhu was also among those vying for the Best Hotel Wedding Venue and Best Wedding Team titles.

The Wedding Planner was also nominated in the Best Occasion Wear Retailer category,

Luss’ Lodge on Loch Lomond was also up for Best Wedding Package.
