A HANDSOME pup is in need of a forever home after spending nearly four years at a local animal shelter.
David, a delightful lurcher cross, has been in the care of the Scottish SPCA’s Dunbartonshire Centre for more than 1,300 days.
He is between six and nine years old.
David is an easygoing, playful dog and would love to have a new family to call his own after being continuously overlooked.
His new owners will need to have experience with sighthound breeds or have done their research into their prey drive.
Irene Mineo, senior animal care assistant, said: “Despite having a difficult start in life, David is an easy-going boy with a wonderful smile.
"He is very playful and would happily spend all day in the garden with his toys if he could.
“David does have a high prey drive so needs to stay on a lead but he is very well-mannered and walks nicely by your side. He loves long walks and is fantastic company.
“Although we feel he would be best suited to a home where he is the only animal, he does enjoy bumping into other dogs when out and about, especially if their temperament is calm like his.
“David will need a new family who have experience of sighthound breeds or have done their research into their prey drive and are confident they can help him be a model canine citizen.
“After spending so long in our care, we would love for David to find his happy ever after.”
