A MAN threw a traffic cone at a window in an early morning disturbance in Alexandria.

Daniel Grey appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court where he previously pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner on February 6 last year.

During the incident the 29-year-old shouted, swore, uttered offensive remarks and repeatedly threw items towards the property causing a window to break.

Procurator fiscal Decla O'Connor said in the early hours of the morning, police received a call about an intoxicated man conducting himself in a disorderly manner.

The court heard CCTV officers captured Grey kicking an object before walking towards a property on Main Street and throwing a traffic cone at it.

When police arrived they warned Grey about his conduct and let him walk off.

However, he returned 30 minutes later.

A witness heard him shouting and swearing outside.

They heard Grey shout 'shut up' as well as a thump, which shattered the outer pane of their living room window.

Grey, of McColl Avenue, Alexandria, then shouted 'you f*****g grass' outside the home.

At the hearing Stephen Maguire, defending, said: "Prior to the offence he told me he was struggling.

"His recollection of the events was not perfect. The police were called initially and he was told to go on his way. He seems to throw an object at a window to attract attention which is not a good idea.

"The court has been willing to explore the option of supervision but he took that option off the table. I think he is someone who has the right attitude to supervision."

Sheriff Robert Vaughan tagged Grey. He must remain in his home from 7pm-7am every night for four months.
