YOUNGSTERS at a local primary school danced the night away recently to mark the end of term.

More than 200 pupils at Christie Park Primary in Alexandria donned their best summer outfits for the school’s ‘shorts and shades’ disco.

The party was split into two with primaries one to three enjoying a boogie first followed by senior pupils.

A host of fun activities were on offer as well as drinks, snacks, and refreshing ice lollies at the end of the night.

Miss McLeod, head teacher at Christie Park, said: "The disco was such a nice idea for the children to have a fun night together before we finish for the holidays.

“Our children have worked so hard this year and thoroughly deserved this special night.

"I would like to thank the teachers and support staff who helped at the event and also the parents and carers of our parent council, and Friends of Christie Park.”
