THERE was laughter and tears as little ones graduated from a local playgroup this morning.

Youngsters at Napier Toddlers & Playgroup donned caps and gowns as they took part in a ceremony held at Napier Hall in Old Kilpatrick.

Proud parents, carers, guardians, and staff cheered them on as the children prepare to move to nursery after the summer break.

The group, founded in 1967, is set to mark its 55th anniversary this year.

Julie Hunter, leader at Napier Toddlers, told the Reporter she is incredibly proud of all of the children.

Julie said: “The graduation went really well. During the presentations, there was lots of laughter and lots of tears from the parents.

“It was lovely. The children who graduated will move on to nursery after the summer holiday.

“I just love these kids. I see them as babies coming through the baby room – for the first two years - before moving to do a year in the big playgroup.

“It’s just lovely and I’m so proud of them for how they have come on and there are such good friendship bonds made between the children and the parents.

“It was brilliant to see them all today having so much fun and graduating, I’m so proud of all of them.”
