Rail services between Balloch and Dumbarton Central have been plunged into chaos after a signal fault halted trains.
Network Rail released a statement advising the signalling system is showing a train on the line that isn't, meaning they are unable to operate travel on the route until it is resolved.
🚦 We're dealing with a signalling fault on the Balloch branch line. Our signalling system is showing that a train is on the line when there isn't, meaning we're unable to run trains on this line for now.

Trains between Balloch and Airdrie have been cancelled, delayed or terminated at Dumbarton Central (DC) and will only be running from Dumbarton in the opposite direction.
One frustrated commuter took to social media to voice their anger at the travel issues.
They wrote: "I'm on the train to Balloch and just been informed that it's terminating at Dumbarton Central.
"No one mentioned that when I bought my tickets. So how do I get to the destination I paid to get to?"
The disruption is set to last until 11am at the earliest.
