A MAN was rushed to hospital after a serious road crash between a car and a motorbike on the A82 near Loch Lomond.

We previously told that the trunk north of Luss was closed in both directions due to the crash on Thursday, August 10.

The road remained completely shut for around six hours after the collision.

Police said that aound 2.15pm, a 59-year-old man driving a Honda motorbike was involved in a collision with a Mercedes A-class being driven by a 31-year-old man near the junction with Culag.

Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

Police say they believe there were drivers in the area who left the scene before officers arrived, and are now appealing for witnesses. 

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “This is a busy road and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash take place to contact us.

"I believe there are drivers who may have left the scene before police arrived and I would urge them to phone us as they may have information that will assist our investigation.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam or personal footage."
