A SELECTION of donated handbags was kindly donated to a charity in Dumbarton.

Dumbarton and the Vale's MSP Jackie Baillie paid a visit to Dumbarton District Women’s Aid to hand over a selection of donated handbags to women who are fleeing domestic abuse.

The handbags were collected and filled with essential toiletries through the Love Grace Foundation. The charity was set up in memory of Grace Millane.

On the eve of her 22nd birthday, Grace was tragically murdered while travelling in New Zealand in December 2018.

Since her death, her family have vowed to help others in her name.

Ms Baillie said: “It was a pleasure, as always, to visit the dedicated staff at Dumbarton District Women’s Aid who work so hard to help women affected by domestic abuse.

“These bags are meant to bring a little joy into our lives and I am sure they will be well received.

“It is a fantastic initiative and I commend the work by Grace Millane’s family to keep her memory alive through this fitting tribute.”
