TRAINS were cancelled over the weekend as police responded to an "incident" in Dumbarton. 

On Saturday, ScotRail announced services running through Dumbarton Central may be cancelled, delayed, or revised due to reports of potential anti-social behaviour onboard a train.

Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed they were alerted to the incident at around 9.30pm.

Cops attended at the station however their assistance was no longer required. 

A BTP spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of potential anti-social behaviour onboard a train at 9.30pm on Saturday, August 19.

"Police met the train at Dumbarton Central railway station however their assistance was no longer required."
