THOUSAND'S of visitors are expected to enjoy a memorable night after the council announced details of the year's Dumbarton fireworks display.

West Dunbartonshire Council is putting on the free show at Levengrove Park on Sunday, November 5 with the aim to dazzle revellers with an array of explosive fun.

The 20-minute show will feature a range of exciting fireworks, including comets, mines, spinners, hummers, whistles, and strobes, and will light up the sky in an array of colours.

Alongside the exhibition, there will be children’s fun fair rides and stalls selling hot food on a night when around 5,000 are expected to attend.

Councillor David McBride, partner director of West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust, said: "This free event will give residents and visitors the chance to enjoy an outstanding display which is perfect for the whole family.

"We expect the event to be extremely popular so would encourage those attending to make use of public transport.

"Levengrove Park has great links with both rail and bus services available nearby.

"If driving is unavoidable, please adhere to parking restrictions in the vicinity.”

The build-up to the main event starts at 7pm, with fireworks starting at 7.30pm prompt.

People are being urged not to bring their own fireworks or sparklers as these can present a safety issue within large crowds, and are also advised to leave pets at home.
