A MAN has been arrested and charged after allegedly lighting a fire at a shop in Alexandria.

Officers say the incident took place at a store in the Tullichewan Drive area of the town on Monday, October 1, at around 9.10pm.

It is understood there were no injuries as a result of the fire-raising.

Following the incident, a 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.

He is expected to appear in court today (Wednesday, October 18).
