A woman has been praised by a sheriff for getting herself off drugs and staying out of trouble.

Kimberley Drummond previously pleaded guilty to five different offences in Clydebank and Dumbarton, two of them involving drugs.

The crimes date back as far as August 2020 so Sheriff Maxwell Hendry said it was "time to start moving on" with bringing them to an end.

Drummond had admitted that on August 9, 2020, at a property in James Street, Alexandria, she repeatedly banged on a door, shouted, behaved in an aggressive manner towards to residents and uttered a threat to damage the property.

She then failed to appear at court in December that year over the case.

On November 9, 2020, at a flat in MacBride Way, Dumbarton, she had the drugs diamorphine and etizolam.

Then on October 31, 2022, at Clydebank police office, she assaulted a cop by biting her on the body, attempting to bite her and spitting on her back, while on bail.

And on February 14, 2023 at Overtoun Court, Clydebank, she had cocaine - while on four bail order.

Drummond's defence solicitor told Dumbarton Sheriff Court on February 20 that his client was currently drug free.

But "she knows this is an addiction that will be with her the rest of her life," he said.

The lawyer added: "She has willingness to do this and the basis to do this - she's drug free and she has a home and knows she needs some help.

"If she misuses drugs again, then there's a price to pay for that."

Sheriff Hendry said: "Well done. Compared with a couple years ago, you seem to be making serious, sustainable efforts."

Drummond - previously of James Street, Clydebank's Garscadden View, Bonhill, Dumbarton and now Braehead, Alexandria,- was put under social work supervision for the next 18 months.

She will be required to take any counselling or treatment for drug addiction as they advise.

Drummond must also do 120 hours of unpaid work in the community within a year.

And she will be under a curfew from 7pm to 7am for three months. She has already been under a similar order for a period.
