South Ayrshire Council has issued a warning over scams targeting Telecare alert device users in the region.
A concerned resident in South Ayrshire has reported a scam call targeting the scheme, with the caller falsely claiming to represent the council and requesting credit card details.
Fortunately, the resident didn't disclose any information and South Ayrshire Council Telecare confirmed they never request payments via cold calls.
Residents are advised to remain vigilant. If you receive unexpected call of this nature, end them and verify with South Ayrshire Council at 0300 123 0900.
