Two people have been arrested after allegedly taking a knife into a store in Dumbarton and shoplifting.
A 27-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were reported to the police on Saturday, August 3, at 5.30pm after a staff member noticed a large knife protruding from the woman’s t-shirt.
After reportedly passing the knife to the man, the woman was then seen taking items from the display and attempting to take them from the shop.
The man meanwhile left the store and was monitored by CCTV before being detained nearby where the knife was allegedly recovered.

The woman was stopped by staff from leaving the store and arrested. They are both held in custody awaiting court.
The pair are both from Dumbarton and are being charged with possession of a knife and theft.
Police officers have increased patrols around both Dumbarton and Clydebank retail areas to address a recent rise in shoplifting.
