A dance teacher from Dumbarton has won an award, five years after opening her own studio.
Holly Douglas, 26, first started teaching dancing in 2018 before moving into her own studio on High Street a year later.
Her dance school Full Out Studios opened in June 2019 almost a year after she first began teaching classes in a church hall in Alexandria.
Last weekend she made her way down to Birmingham where she won the Young Professional of the Year award from the Association of Dance and Freestyle Professionals.
Holly who wasn't expecting the award says she owes it to her 'amazing pupils'.
She said: "I was like there's no way that I've actually been chosen. I was over the moon.
"It was amazing to win, but it was so nerve-wracking because you have to go up and give a speech.
"The kids just love it, they were all so happy when I Facetimed them and told them that I won. I wish they were there.
"They're the reason I was nominated."
Holly teaches freestyle disco among other dance styles to her 50 pupils at her school which she says can be a demanding job.
However, she has risen to the challenge claiming she 'wouldn't change a thing.'
After falling in love with dancing at just nine years old she attended college in Paisley before moving to London to study.
She said: "It just doesn't feel real. Sometimes it takes time to sink in.
"I started that style when I was about nine years old and then I've just loved it since. But I did do a lot of different styles.
"I love it, but it's definitely a lot harder than it seems. I do everything on my own. It's constant work 24/7 but I wouldn't change it."
