A celebration of Tom Weir is being featured on BBC's The One Show.

Friends of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs chairman John Urquhart will retrace Weir’s footsteps for viewers.

The segment, which airs on Wednesday, September 3, will see Urquhart guide presenter JJ Chalmers around Gartocharn, Weir’s former home.

The duo will climb 'The Dumpling,' offering panoramic views of Loch Lomond, and visit Balmaha, where the Friends recently updated interpretation panels at Tom Weir’s Rest.

A spokesperson for the Friends said: "The Friends are proud to be associated with a figure of Tom’s standing."
