Residents in Dumbarton have been notified that a 'live crash' is to be filmed in the town as part of River City productions.

Letters notifying those near the BBC Studios that there may be noises coming from the estate due to filming on Tuesday, April 14 to Thursday, April 16, from 8pm to 8am each night.

It is understood they will be recording 'live car crashes' during these times.

A representative of BBC Studios confirmed to the Dumbarton Reporter that the scene was being shot for Scottish drama series, River City, on their set.

We previously reported how the studio was sold in February after months of fighting to save it.

The studio has long housed some of the country’s much-loved shows, including the likes of Shetland, Still Game, and Two Doors Down, but BBC Scotland announced in March it would close the facility in September 2026, following the news that it was axing its long-running drama River City.
