This year will be one that nobody will ever forget. My thoughts are with anyone who has lost a loved one to the coronavirus, which we are continuing to fight.

It has been a devastating disease and my thanks go to the heroes in our NHS who have been on the frontline, as well as those who have helped to keep our communities moving, including our council staff, shop workers and agricultural workers.

With the vaccine rollout now underway, we are hopefully heading for a return to a sense of normal life in 2021 and rebuilding our communities, businesses and helping to get people back into work.

This whole pandemic has shown the strength of our United Kingdom working together, saving thousands of jobs here in the furlough scheme, delivering billions for businesses and now being the first in the world to rollout the vaccine.

We are only five months away from the Scottish Parliament elections and I am absolutely delighted to be standing as the Scottish Conservative and Unionist candidate in this constituency. I love living in Helensburgh and have loved representing the area for the last four years. I look forward to getting out on the campaign trail and engaging with as many voters as possible.

I hope you and your families have been able to share some precious time over the Christmas period and I wish you all the best for 2021.
