The game continued to flow from end-to-end and the visitors pulled themselves back level again in the 29th minute when McDermott scored.

With the scores tied at 2-2 at half time Vale boss Hugh Hamill introduced loan signing Harry McLachlan in an effort to re-take the initiative and fire the Vale back into the lead.
