DUMBARTON’S stadium will have a new name this season after the club agreed a deal with local company Cheaper Insurance Direct.
The stadium, which was called the Dumbarton Football Stadium for most of last season after previous sponsors Bet Butler went bust, will now be called the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.
The company will become Dumbarton’s sponsor as part of a two-year agreement subject to SFA approval.
Gilbert Lawrie, Dumbarton FC chief executive, said: “We see this opportunity as a great deal for this club and our new sponsor. Cheaper Insurance Direct has firmly put down its roots in Dumbarton and is owned by Sons fans.
“This collaboration is aimed at establishing sustainability for all concerned with a successful future being the ultimate goal.” Cheaper Insurance Direct, a Dumbarton East based company, formerly known as Cheaper Car Insurance Services provide car, van, home, life, travel and commercial insurance.
