Dumbarton Academy FP were celebrating their third Douglas Smith League Cup victory after a stunning comeback a Broadwood on Friday night.

Accies last won the trophy back in 2009, making it two-in-a-row after lifting the cup in 2008.

However their prospects looked bleak early on when Larkhall Thistle took an early lead, scoring after just five minutes.

Accies fought back though and got themselves level later in the first half when Alan Filshie forced the ball home after a corner.

With time ticking away and extra time looming, Accies got the winner which would bring the trophy back to Dumbarton

Andrew McDonald got the crucial goal with just13 minutes left following an excellent passing exchange.

Accies would like to thank their large travelling support for their vocal encouragement and their sponsors the Bay Inn.

A full report of Accies' cup success will be in next week's Reporter.
