DUMBARTON goalkeeper Mark Brown has retired from football to pursue a career in the police force.
Brown has found first team action hard to come by this season, with his last outing coming as a substitute in January against Morton.
The 36-year-old stopper joined the Sons in 2015, signing a two year deal but leaves with the club in eighth spot in the Championship.
Now a qualified goalkeeping coach, Brown has made more than 350 appearances - 33 for Dumbarton - in a professional career spanning 18 years.
A club spokesman added: “Everyone at DFC wishes him all the best in his new career.”
