Loch Lomond U15s got their season off to a winning start at the weekend with a convincing win over Kilmarnock.

Picking up from where they left off last season, the U15s showed some great defensive and attacking rugby to blow away their Killie counterparts at the Dillichip.

The sweltering conditions on Sunday took a toll on both teams. However, to their credit, the Lomond boys never stopped pressuring the opposition which resulted in a number of errors and turnovers.

And while Lomond coaches were pleased with how the first game panned out, they have reminded the team there is still plenty of work to be done on the training field in preparation for their match away to Greenock this weekend.

Loch Lomond U14s, meanwhile, got their season underway at the weekend with a difficult assignment as they played host to a very strong Dalziel side at the Dillichip.

The Lomond youngsters began in a very promising manner but the power of the opposition was soon clear to see as Dalziel were able to find gaps in the home defence, going on to build an unassailable lead.
