STEVEN GERRARD insists Rangers won’t stop striving for improvement after taking ‘immense pride’ from their Europa League campaign.

The Light Blues missed out on a place in the quarter-finals after suffering a second leg defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night.

Gerrard guided his side through for qualifying rounds, saw them progress from the group stage and then see off Braga to reach the last 16.

“We look back with immense pride, we have done ever so well,” he told RangersTV. “I think we have done the fans proud if you look at the whole journey.

“[On Thursday], maybe not so. But there is no point looking back, we need to really respect this level and individually and collectively keep trying to strive for better.

“Of course we will keep trying to add bodies into it to make us better, but every single day on the training pitch we need to keep trying to improve on the things that didn’t go well.”
